Key to the vision for all areas of our Personal Ministry is an admonition by Jesus,
"You have received free of charge; give free of charge."
Our Vision
Our vision for Divine Resourcing is collect or purchase and then freely provide items for redistribution to ministries, organizations and individuals whose mission it is to serve those in need.
The Problem
In order to help the less fortunate with their physical needs, you need stuff
.
Food, blankets, toiletries, bus tokens, clothing, vehicles - stuff
.
Ministries, organizations and individuals with the heart to serve those in need
typically either lack the resources to do it or they must assemble and
manage a large organization whose sole purpose is to raise the funds necessary to get
the stuff
. It is a daunting task that often consumes far
more time, resources and even money than expected, leaving precious little to
actually do those things they feel called to do.
Many of the organizations providing housing for homeless, in the various stages of recovery and transition, for example, have told us that food alone can represent as much as 80% of their operating budget.
Our Solution
Our solution to the problem was to form a privately funded organization,
dedicated to identifying and gathering the stuff
needed to
help the needy, whether the Lord opens the hearts of individuals and
organizations to donate it or we are required to purchase it, and to give
that stuff
freely to the ministries, organizations and
individuals on the front lines providing those goods and services.
